Timeline of the Application Process

October 31, 2022 - Initial application opens. Non-refundable deposit is due with application.

January 10, 2023 - Last day to submit application with a non-refundable $500 deposit.

Applications will be processed on a rolling basis.

March 1, 2023 all remaining fees must be paid in full.

Requirements for the application process

  • A letter of recommendation by a Federation approved local Rabbi or Cantor. If the teen does not have a relationship with a local clergy, the Federation is happy to make an introduction!
  • An interview with a Federation professional and/or lay leader is required prior to acceptance into the program. Interviews will be scheduled after the letter of recommendation is received.
  • The Dallas Israel Teen Tour is heavily subsidized and made available through generous funders. In addition to the registration fees, each family is expected to make a personally meaningful gift to the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas's annual campaign to support future programs.

All teens will be informed of their final acceptance decision within 30 days from submission of the required letter of recommendation and interview.

Space on the trip is secured only following that final decision and only so long as fee milestones are maintained.

If a teen is not accepted into the program, the $500 deposit will be refunded.

Interview with a Federation Professional and/or Lay Leader

Interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis and only after the letter of recommendation from a rabbi or cantor is received. We recommend you request the letter as soon as you complete your initial deposit and registration. You will be contacted once the letter is received.

Virtual Sessions (6 nekudot) to be completed at the teen's convenience by June 1, 2023.
